Stress grading (ref BS 5268 Part 2) BS EN338 defines Strength Classes, the most commonly specified being C16 and C24. Below are some of the species allowed under these two classifications. Timber supplied to BS 5268 Part 2 must be graded at a moisture content appropriate to its end use for internal use each piece must be marked DRY or KD.
